The Silent Ride is a nice upgrade but it is not as comprehensive as the Roadmaster. It also doesn't have the same limited lifetime warranty that comes with the Comfort Ride. Neither of these are designed to lift your trailer.

Hey Tom, so going with a different leaf spring that has a different amount of leaves will not change the bouncing you mentioned. The best way to stop that would be to add shocks to the suspension which will slow down the up and down movement.

We do have replacement parts for your trailer. Starting with the equalizer we have the # TREQR89. It sounds like you have 3-1/8" shackle straps so I recommend the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit # MR76ZR. This comes with wet bolts, bronze bushings, and 1/2" thick shackle straps.

Hello Will, interesting question. It sounds like the suspension components you are using are not sized correctly. I suspect either the leaf springs, shackles or equalizer may be too long. When replacing suspension components like leaf springs, equalizers and shackles, the replacement parts must be identical in size to the stock components. Those look pretty worn out so I would replace them. The one leaf definitely should not be misaligned with the rest of the stack. I can't tell if the front are in the photos or not. Personally I would replace all four but at a minimum you need to replace in pairs so that would be the two rear leaf springs.

From what I can see on the Cognito kits the leaf spring stack is just getting a spacer block and new u-bolts so you'll be able to install the RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit # RAS3611-HD. This just clamps to one leaf spring eyelet and the other side will clamp to the other side of the leaf spring stack. I have a couple options you can look at first but without knowing exactly what suspension you have I can not say what will work. First if you have double eye leaf springs we do have the Tandem Axle Lift Kit # RR23QX which allows you to raise the trailer 1-1/4" or 2-1/4". These bolt to the spring hangers but again they are only for trailers with double eye leaf springs.

The 5-Leaf Double-Eye Spring # e34SR will be a good replacement for your 2021 Grand Design 31MB, provided the stock leaf spring is also 25-1/4" long. The suspension is all designed based on a specific length of spring, so it is critical that the replacement springs are identical in size to the stock springs. When it comes to leaf spring suspensions the best practice is to measure the sizes of the components the manufacturer originally installed and replacing with same size components. If you start replacing items with different sizes then it throws everything else off and lead to a bind up.

To lift your trailer we'll first need to check of the suspension and see if you have torsion axles or a leaf spring suspension. If you have torsion axles then I'll need to see the axle tag in order to determine what you have so I can pick out the correct kit. If you have a leaf spring suspension then you'll just need to check if the leaf springs sit below the axle (underslung) and measure the diameter of the axle.

You can swap out the leaf springs to help reduce wear but you'll most likely notice a little bit stiffer of a ride, but not enough to really matter. To find the correct replacement you'll first need to measure the leaf spring so that we can find a compatible replacement. I've attached two diagrams below to show you how measure your leaf springs. Thanks for the picture and the measurement! If you measured your suspension with the trailer sitting on the ground the springs have stretched with the years of use and won't be 28" long. You're probably going to be closer to 27" which means you'll need the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles item # e97SR or even 26" which you'd replace with the item # e77SR.
